South Jersey Healthcare Employee Benefits Overview

The purpose of this overview is to provide a brief description of the benefits available to the employees and prospective employees of South Jersey Healthcare. SJH offers its employees an excellent benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. 

Medical Insurance Plan

The SJH Medical Insurance is administered by Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Jersey through their Direct Access Plan.  There is no need to identify Primary Care Physicians or get referrals as a member of this plan. 

Prescription Plan

The SJH Prescription Plan is administered through CaremarkPCS.  This benefit allows you to purchase necessary prescription drugs at a much-reduced cost after a small co-payment.

Vision Care Reimbursement Plan

The Vision Care Plan provides affordable, quality vision care, nationwide. Through Spectera's provider network, you will receive a complete eye examination, as well as materials (if needed).

Dental Insurance Plan

The SJH Dental Insurance Plan is managed through Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield Dental of New Jersey.  Under this plan, a member has 3 options from which to choose.

Flexible Spending Program

This benefit allows you to pay for health premiums, unreimbursed medical, dental and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars

Group Life Insurance

SJH provides all benefit eligible employees with Group Life Insurance Coverage at no cost to the employee.  This coverage consists of 2 times Basic Annual Earnings.  Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is an amount equal to Basic Life amount.  This plan is administered through the New Jersey Hospital Association. Supplemental Life insurance can be purchased and paid for via payroll deduction.

Retirement Plan

All SJH employees will automatically be enrolled in the Pension Plan once eligibility requirements are met.  The SJH Pension Plan is a defined contribution plan totally funded by the Health System.  Various tax deferred annuity options are also available.

Tuition Assistance 

Tuition Assistance of up to $3,000 per year is available for benefit eligible employees.  This includes assistance for collegiate education and nationally recognized certification courses.

Paid Time Off

SJH has a program in which you accrue time off each pay period based on your job title and your length of service.  Vacation accrual is based on length of service.  Long term sick time is accrued for the purpose of any lengthy illness.

Long Term Disability

Voluntary: can purchase a two or five-year benefit, which is equal to one half of monthly income to a maximum of $2,000

Financial Services

Direct Deposit of paycheck to any financial institution of your choice.  All employees are eligible to become members of the Hospital sponsored credit unions.  An ATM machine is available on each campus.

Day Care

Day Care Benefits are available to benefit eligible employees.
